Other Hotels
There is a number of hotels in Zürich Oerlikon, however, note that a 10 min walking distance is the minimum you should spent on reaching the area of Swissôtel Zürich. Another convenient hotel is located at the University main campus, called Irchel, and finally multiple other ones are available in the Zürich downtown area. There are different ways to travel from Zürich Airport (ZRH) to the Swissôtel in Zürich Oerlikon:
• By taxi -- costing approximately 50-60,- CHF for a single trip, and taking 25-40 min depending on the travel time of the day (rush hour app. 7.00-9.30 hours and 15.30-19.00 hours)
• By train or tram -- costing 6.20 CHF for a single trip (Zones 110 and 121), and taking 5 min (train) or 15 min (tram) independent
of the travel time of the day
Travel by Train from the Zürich Airport (ZRH) to Zürich Oerlikon:
Zürich Oerlikon is the closest train station from the Swissôtel and can be reached by S-Bahn, Intercity Train, or Regional Train in approximately 5 minutes from Zürich Airport. Any connection you require by train to Zürich Oerlikon from the Zürich Airport shall state a "From Station/Stop: Zurich Airport" and "To Station/Stop: Zurich Oerlikon" in the on-line time table form available at http://www.zvv.ch/en/.
Once you reach the Zürich Oerlikon train station, proceed on foot for 3 minutes as follows: Follow the front exit of the station (toward track 1), cross the street called "Hofwiesenstrasse" to the Southern direction, and you are just in front of the Swissôtel, which you can enter from the right side, coming from the station.
Travel by Tram from the Zürich Airport (ZRH) to Zürich Oerlikon:
Additionally, there is a fast direct connection by Tram No. 10 every 15 minutes (every 7-8 minutes during peak times: 6.00-9.00 and 16.00-19.00 hours) from Zürich Airport to "Zürich, Sternen Oerlikon", which is located just about 300 m away from the Swissôtel. Thus, a highly comfortable access from the airport in approximately 15 minutes is guaranteed. Get off at Station/Stop: Zurich, Sternen Oerlikon, return on foot for 30 m, make a left into enter Querstrasse, walk for 100 m, and turn right into Edisonstrasse. From there you see the Swissotel just across the plaza (175 m) to your half left ahead.
The on-line time table can be accessed at http://www.zvv.ch/en/ and any connection you require from Zürich Airport by tramway to Zürich Oerlikon Ost shall state in the request form a "From Station/Stop: Zurich Airport" and a "To Station/Stop: Oerlikon Ost".

Swiss power outlets accept besides Swiss plugs also Europlugs (CEE 7/16), the non-earthed two-pin plug variant.
