Author Instructions

Complete the following by 18 August 2012

• Improve your manuscript according to the reviewers' comments

• Adapt the capitalization of your paper title to the third rule of Headings and Publications Titles e.g., "The Vitamins Are in My Fresh California Raisins", Capitalization of all words, except for internal articles, prepositions and conjunctions

• Pages are to be formatted in the IEEE double-column format using IEEE Conference Proceeding templates.
  ‣ The lengths depends on the category as noted below:
    › Main Conference: 8 pages + 1 page for references
    › Mini-Conference: 6 pages + 1 page for references
    › Short Paper: 4 pages + 1 page for references
    › SVM 2012 Worshop: (as communicated to you in your notification letter)

• If you're using IEEEtran class in LaTeX, use the following as the first line in your LaTeX source file:
  ‣ \documentclass[10pt,conference]{IEEEtran}
  ‣  (Note: with IEEE conferences, the author affiliation is listed under the author's name, unlike IEEE transactions)

• No page numbering, header or footer (other than the copyright info discussed below)

• Insert an appropriate copyright notice on the first page (bottom left) as follows:
  ‣ For papers in which all authors are employed by the US government, the copyright notice is: U.S. Government work not protected by U.S. copyright
  ‣ For papers in which all authors are employed by a Crown government (UK, Canada, and Australia), the copyright notice is: 978-3-901882-48-7 (c) 2012 Crown
  ‣ For all other papers the copyright notice is: 978-3-901882-48-7 (c) 2012 IFIP
  ‣ Latex users can add either of the following green blocks just before \begin{document} for the copyright notice to show up (shown below as an example for the third case above):

\usepackage[pscoord]{eso-pic}
\newcommand{\placetextbox}[3]{
\setbox0=\hbox{#3}
\AddToShipoutPictureFG*{ \put(\LenToUnit{#1\paperwidth},\LenToUnit{#2\paperheight}){\vtop{{\null}\makebox[0pt][c]{#3}}}
}
}
\placetextbox{.2}{0.055}{978-3-901882-48-7~\copyright~2012 IFIP}

OR

\IEEEoverridecommandlockouts
\IEEEpubid{\makebox[\columnwidth]{978-3-901882-48-7~\copyright~2012
IFIP \hfill} \hspace{\columnsep}\makebox[\columnwidth]{ }}

  ‣ MSWord users can use: 'Insert' -> 'Text box', insert the appropriate copyright notice in the texbox, and place the box (without border) at the bottom left on the first page.

• Go to IEEE PDF eXpress Website.
  ‣ Create an IEEE PDF eXpress account (use conference ID: CNSM12xp; use 'new user' if you haven't used this site before.).
  ‣ Use IEEE PDF eXpress to check if your PDF file is Xplore-compliant, OR, else, you can use this site to convert your source files into an IEEE Xplore-compliant PDF file (e.g., for LaTeX users, create a zip file that includes dvi and your eps figure files all together, and then upload the zip file for the system to convert into a compliant PDF file; for MSWord users, upload the Word file and let it convert and return a compliant PDF file)

• At JEMS for your paper entry, upload the following
  ‣ A copy of the compliance message from PDF eXpress
  ‣ A note on how the reviewers' comments addressed
  ‣ The PDF eXpress-passed compliant PDF file
  ‣ Signed copyright form with the relevant information (such as author, title etc) completed
